Goals
Our goal is to build 6 one bedroom units and 1 two bedroom unit, providing long term housing to locally employed people. Building these units will allow these integral members of our community to live within a short distance to work.
The area is lacking annual long term housing options. In our area we have many short term rental options like Slide Mountain Hotel, Shandaken Inn, Simpler Times cabins, Phoenicia Lodge, and the Emerson Resort and Spa to name a few.
The need for housing has increased exponentially in the area, which is the gap we will solve with our building plan.
In our other property, we have tenants who work at The Emerson, Fruition, Pine Hill Community Center, Bread Alone, Woodstock Brewery, and Onteora School District to name a few.
This plan will not change the neighborhood footprint, nor will it change Rt. 28 based on the other properties that already exist.
About Us

We have been visiting the area for almost 30 years and love everything the area has to offer.
We are avid walkers, enjoying the natural beauty of the Catskills around us. One day while walking Route 28, we saw the dilapidated old boarding house that once belonged to The Emerson. A light bulb immediately went off in Howard’s head with a vision to renovate the building as it would be a great opportunity to help build our community.
At first, we weren’t sure the best way go about the rental market. AirBnB was beginning to take off in the area and seemed like a great way to accomplish our goal. After a few months, we realized that offering long term/annual housing would have a greater benefit for our community. Years later, our building is full of local residents who are making a positive impact on our area as a whole.
